All Shall Be Well

 Self-important leaders posture,

Pond mist rising,

birds chattering.

All shall be well.

Black baseball player taunted while

honeysuckle

perfumes the air.

All shall be well.

President praises dictators.

High hawks soaring

cyclists coasting.

All shall be well.

Isis bombs convoy, friend’s grandson

stands up for right.

Tall grass swaying,

shadows dancing.

ALL SHALL BE WELL.

I am an octogenarian, mother, grandmother, wife, sister, friend, voracious reader, and amateur poet. I am dedicated to keeping both my mind and body active through yoga and tai chi, walks with my dog, rich discussion with my book club and 80+ groups, and numerous other activities. I have a deep curiosity about the world and its inhabitants.

Lovely, Betty – a broader perspective that makes room for joy in the midst of pain.

i’ll hold that thought. inhale, exhale, think these words (or say them aloud): all shall be well. repeat as needed for the rest of my life.
